NationalConference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah Monday said that his party willfight Assembly elections on its own.He said that militancy in J&K has notended rather it is being contained through concerted efforts by securityagencies.

NC leaderwhile interacting media person in Doda ruled out any alliance with otherpolitical parties in Assembly elections in J&K. “NC will stand on its ownfeet and contest from all 90 Assembly seats independently,” he said.

“Our agendais crucial for the development, happiness and protection of the people of Jammu& Kashmir,” he said and added, “NC will move forward on its own strength,and will seek suggestions from people for the betterment of the party”.

Replying toa query NC president said that he will fight the elections and the party willstand on its own feet. “I’m not dead. I will fight the elections whereverneeded,” he added.

Respondingto a query the NC leader said that militancy in Jammu and Kashmir is being“contained” through concerted measures by security agencies.

“We believethat militancy in J&K has not ended. It is being contained, or we will sayit is under control. But the biggest change is that people want peace, progressand prosperity,” he maintained.
